About Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science
Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science, Indore established in 1952 as a tiny Institute has grown into a leading technological Institution in the state of Madhya Pradesh but also the entire central and Western Regions of the country in a span of 35 years. Considering the quality of the manpower generated by the Institute, a high power committee of the government of India has ranked it 16th in the country including IITs and NITs. While recognizing its academic achievements, All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and University grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi granted the status of an Autonomous Institution in 1989.Under this status, the Institute conducts its own examinations at both UG and PG levels and frames its own syllabii with a flexibility to update them as and when required to keep pace with the latest technological and scientific developments. All the major UG and PG programmes have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation of AICTE. Efforts are being made for acquiring the status of "DEEMED TO BE UNIVERSITY" for the Institute and same in the Dec. 2004 conditionally.
The Institute has well-qualified and experienced faculty, the 50% of whom are having a doctoral degree. Quite a few of them have earned prestigious awards also. The faculty and the students of the institute publish more than 100 research papers every year. The laboratories of the various departments have been modernized with an aid of approx. 3.0 crores of rupees from Govt. of India and World Bank. The Institute is involved in Continuing Education Programme and also provides Testing and Consultancy services. The Institute has successfully completed a large number of sponsored Research Projects. The Institute also supports IGNOU, New Delhi for its technical courses
