About Anjabit Singh College
College introduction-The college was established in 1957 and is one of the oldest colleges in Ara. It was started by Late Shri Nepal Singh who was the resident of a small village Dhawan in Bikramganj, Rohtas. It is affiliated to V.K.S.U., Ara and is dedicated to the study of Arts and Science and offers different degree courses in these streams. Apart from these regular courses, there are many professional programs; remedial coaching and entry-level coaching are also available for students.
Facilities-Apart from having good infrastructure, the college is having the below-mentioned facilities on the campus.
- Computer lab -The computer lab on the campus is equipped with around 25 computers having advanced configurations and are updated to learn about MS Office, Java, Visual Basic, C#, FORTRAN, etc. Students can also use computers for their club activities.
- Library-The college library is having an excellent collection of books including journals, reference books, textbooks, etc. It also has a collection of manuscripts, films, maps, CDs, audiobooks, e-books, etc for students and is available for students for reference.
- Games and Sports-The sports activities on the campus are managed by the University Sports Council which includes many senior members of the management committee. A cricket ground, 2 throw ball courts, 2 Basketball courts, 3 volleyball courts, 4 Lawn tennis courts and facilities for carom and TT are available on the campus. A gym facility with an instructor is also available for the students. The college also organizes many sports events annually including Inter-Collegiate tournaments.
- NSS -
The college also has active participation in the National Service Scheme (NSS) which develops the sense of participation in social welfare at the national level. Students participate in various social activities like Blood donation camps, orientation camps, rising of funds for different altruistic activities, etc and learn many practical things that cannot be taught in academic classes.
