About National Education Foundation (NEF) Law College
National Education Foundation (NEF) Law College, Guwahati was established in the year 2006 and is one of the leading institutions imparting Law Education in this part of the country. It offers UG and PG courses in law. The College is approved by the Bar Council of India and is recognized by University Grants Commission as well as by the Deptt. of Higher Education, Govt. of Assam.
FacilitiesThere are well-furnished classrooms, moot courtrooms, seminar hall, etc available in the college and a Wi-Fi facility is also there on the campus.
There is one computer lab having 26 PCs with networking and internet facilities so that the students can work on them in connection with their studies on legal topics.
Under the Govt scholarship scheme all the students from Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh are eligible for Post-Matric scholarships from their respective State Govt. of the States. SC/ST Students of Assam are also eligible for scholarships from the Assam State Govt. Some Merit-cum-Means Scholarships are also available from the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt. of India to the Students belonging to minority communities.
The College is having one full-fledged Boys' hostel. For the female students, a private hostel facility is provided in houses adjacent to the College.
AdmissionsAdmissions to the 3-year full-time LL.B. course will be done based on the merit of the qualifying examination. For this course, the general category candidates should have a graduate degree from a recognized university with at least 45% marks while the OBC candidates should have got at least 42% and SC/ST candidates should have got at least 40% marks in their graduation. The age of the general category candidates should not be above 30 years and for the reserved category, it should not be above 35 years. Seats in this course are reserved for the reserved category candidates as per the Govt directive.
For admission to 5 years integrated LL.B. course (B.A., LL.B. (Honours)), the candidate should have passed in 10+2 (Higher Secondary) and should have obtained at least 45% marks in aggregate. For SC/ST candidates this limit is 40% while for OBC candidates it is 42%. The upper age limit is 20 years for the general candidates while it is 22 years for the reserved category. An entrance test is conducted for admission to this course.
Candidates interested in admission to the above courses have to register online in the admission portal (https://neflc.nexterp.in/nlp/nlp/admission-login). Once registration is done then one can fill the online application form giving all the desired information and then upload the required documents as follows - - Birth Certificate or HSLC Certificate.
- HSLC and HS Mark sheet & Certificate.
- Degree Mark sheet & Certificate (for 3 Year LL.B. course only).
- Transfer Certificate (TC) and character certificate from the last Institution.
- Caste Certificate if applicable.
After uploading the documents the candidate has to pay online the application fee of Rs 500. They can use credit cards, debit cards, online banking, UPI, etc for making online payments. The candidates can then print the admission form. They will also receive their ‘user name' and ‘password' to be used in the portal till the admission process is over. The candidates will be informed about their admission or entrance tests whatever the case may be after scrutiny of their application forms.
