About Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College & Hospital
Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College & Hospital was started in the year 1969 as Magadh Medical College. Its name changed in 1984 in the honour of the first finance minister of Bihar. It started as a private institute that later converted into a government college in 1978. It is affiliated to the Aryabhatta Knowledge University and has currently 18 departments managed by well-qualified professionals, doctors, and nurses to fulfil the requirement of college as well as hospital.
InfrastructureThe college building is situated in Gaya, Bihar, and is occupying an area of around 45 acres of land. The Mahabodhi Temple in the vicinity makes it a demanding tourist place. The college campus has a very rich infrastructure. It has well-equipped hospital facilities, separate administrative blocks for college, museums, classrooms, library, labs and auditorium. Apart from this, the campus has outdoor and indoor games facilities, a police station and a branch of UCO Bank.
FacilitiesThe library is having an excellent collection of books related to medical sciences. It has separate reading rooms for graduation and post-graduation courses having enough space to sit and study. It is air-conditioned with internet facility for both the students and staff.
The Lecture theatres are well equipped to provide an excellent environment for studies. These halls are used for conducting regular as well as guest lectures.
The laboratories in ANMMC are very advanced with all the required equipment and facilities. It is also used for testing blood samples. There are separate facilities for disciplines like molecular biology, immunology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, etc. All these medical laboratories are having expert technicians capable of sample collection, storage, and further processing. The laboratory scientists are responsible for performing analysis and interpret the reports based on the data.
The college has accommodation facilities on the campus itself for students. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. These hostels are having all the facilities required for daily life and are well secured.
AdmissionFor admissions, the students must secure at least 50% marks as aggregate in the 12th/qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Apart from this, the candidate also needs to secure at least 50% marks in the competitive examination. The students belonging to Schedule Castes and Schedule Tribes need to secure 40% marks in the competitive exam. The selected students depending upon their rank in the competitive exam have to attend the counselling for securing their admission. - Padmini
