Course Details
MDS Periodontics is a 3-year program for those who have completed their Bachelor in Dental Surgery. The field of periodontics mainly pertains to the diagnosis and treating gum diseases. However, as a certified periodontist, you will be also into treating oral inflammation and placing dental implants. In this course, you will be receiving extensive training on such aspects and will be learning the latest in diagnosing and treatment techniques for periodontics diseases. The course also pertains to training in cosmetic periodontal procedures. Some of the basic treatment techniques used by a Periodontist are scaling, root planing and roof surface debridement. Among other things, you will be learning about dental implants, how to place, maintain and repair them. You will be also learning a range of surgical procedures to deal with severe gum diseases.
Eligibility Criteria for M.D.S. Periodontics Admissions
To enrol for this program you need to hold a BDS degree from a college or university recognised by the Dental Council of India. You should have qualified NEET MDS or other national level entrance exams like AIPGDEE. You should have completed the mandatory rotatory residential internship at an approved hospital for a period of one year.
