M.C.A. or Master of Computer Application is a Postgraduate degree course in the field of computers and technology. In regular mode, the duration of the course is 3 years or 6 semesters, where each semester is of 6 months. This course is in very much demand as it offers you great opportunities in IT sector after completion. The course structure includes different subjects including both compulsory and optional. Some of them are related to Data Files and Structure, Programming languages, Software engineering, Operating systems and many more.
The last 6 months of the course or the last semester is all about professional project/ training and candidates need to pursue it from a reputed company or institute and in the end, the project report needs to be submitted.
Eligibility Criteria for M.C.A Admissions
To become eligible for this course, the students need to qualify their senior secondary or 10+2 exams with Mathematics and a Bachelor's degree or 10+2+3 that is BCA from a recognized institute with at least 50% marks in aggregate. For SC/ ST category students and for handicapped students, 40% marks are required for admission. Candidates holding a higher degree in related subjects like Business Mathematics, Quantitative Techniques, Statistics, etc are also allowed to enroll for this course.
