Course Details
The course is divided into 4 semesters covering various topics in Psychology. During every semester some practicals are to be carried out. Generally five practicals are to be carried in each semester.
The main topics are Psychology of cognitive and affective processes, Psychology of Learning and Memory Processes, Applied Social Psychology, Applications of Statistics in Psychology, Research Methodology, Conceptual Approaches of Personality, Psychology of Guidance, Psychopathology-I, Foundation of Clinical Psychology, Theories of Personality, Counseling Psychology, Psychopathology-II and Psychotherapies.
Practicals are carried out on the following topics -
1. Short-term memory.
2. Long-term memory.
3. Measurement of PI/RI.
4. Ziegarnik effect.
5. Attitude change.
6. Measurement of stereotypes/prejudice.
7. Interpersonal attraction.
8. Moral values.
9. Effect of success on group cohesiveness.
10. Alienation.
11. Locus of control.
12. Emotional maturity.
13. Self-esteem/ self-concept/ Self-efficiency.
14. Administration of a test of vocational interest.
15. Administration of a test of aptitude.
16. MMPI.
17. TAT.
18. Rorschach.
19. Anxiety Scale/ Death Anxiety.
20. Depression.
21. Reaction to frustration.
22. EPQ/ EPI.
Eligibility Criteria for M.A. Psychology Admissions
The candidate should have a B.A. degree with at least 40% marks and Psychology as one of the subjects.
