Course Details
The syllabus for the 2 years Physics course is same as prescribed by the Kumaun University and is completed within four semesters of 6 months each.
For the first three semesters the course is common for all the students and comprises of Mathematical Methods, Classical Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics, Digital Electronics and Computer Architecture, etc. and associated Practicals.
In the last semester there are some options and the student has to choose specialization in one of them. These are -
(a) Advanced Electronics.
(b) High Energy Physics.
(c) Spectroscopy.
(d) Astrophysics.
(e) Advanced Condensed Matter Physics.
The last semester will be followed by a project work.
Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc. Physics Admissions
The candidate should have a B.Sc. degree having secured at least 45% marks and must had Physics as one of the subjects during B.Sc.
