Course Details
Curriculum
The Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm.) program is of two years' duration, with both theory and practicals. In the first year, the curriculum includes Pharmaceutics-I, Pharmaceutical Chemistry-I, Pharmacognosy, and Biochemistry & Clinical Pathology, Human Anatomy & Physiology, and Health Education & Community Pharmacy, with 400 hours for theory and 375 hours for practicals in the labs.
In the second academic year of the D.Pharm. course, the curriculum includes Pharmaceutics -II, Pharmaceutical Chemistry – II, Pharmacology & Toxicology, Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence, Drug Store & Business Management, and Hospital & Clinical Pharmacy, with 450 hours for theory and 275 hours of practicals.
Eligibility Criteria for Diploma Pharmacy Admissions
For admission to the D.Pharm. course at Jijamata College of Pharmacy, you need to pass in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Mathematics). Any one of the combinations of PCB or PCM or PCBM is acceptable. You should have attained the pass marks of these subjects in any one of the following exams-
- The Intermediate exam in Science.
- The first year of a three-year degree course in Science.
- The 10+2 exam in science.
- A pre-Degree exam or any other qualification that is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India is equivalent to any of the above exams.
Reservation policy
31 seats for the D.Pharm. course are reserved for the students from the Muslim minority community and 17 seats are reserved for the open category. To be eligible to apply for an open category seat, you have to appear for the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) that is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Govt. of Maharashtra. 12 seats are filled by the college on the basis of the list of meritorious candidates that is drawn up as per the applications received.
