Course Details
The Diploma in Pharmacy, known in short as D.Pharm., is a two-year course of four semesters, on successful completion of which will give you employment in a hospital, a healthcare center, a government or private institute, a medical store, etc.
The syllabus of the course includes Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy, Human anatomy and physiology, clinical pathology, etc In the second year you will learn about managing a drug store and working in the pharmaceutical areas of a clinic and hospital. As per the requirements of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), in addition to not less than 180 working days of academics, you also have to complete 500 hours of practical training. An annual exam and a supplementary exam will be conducted in each year.
Eligibility Criteria for Diploma Pharmacy Admissions
As per the PCI norms, to get admission to the first year of the D.Pharm. course, you should have passed at least the Class 10+2 exam (or equivalent) with the science subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics. Also acceptable is passing the Intermediate examination in Science, or the first year of the 3-year degree course in Science, or a recognized Pre-degree exam or any other PCI-recognized exam. You are required to score a minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) in the 10+2 exam.
