Course introduction
B.A. is a Bachelor of Arts degree, a 3 years graduation course with many specializations and Population Studies is one among them. In this course, candidates learn about different facts related to human population, collection of data base of these facts and then analysis. All these studies then help them to deal with various population related issues and their solutions. These problems can be public health, migration, immigration, criminology, environmental issues, etc. It also helps to improve society in different aspects including education, health and housing.
Eligibility
12th passed candidates with specialization in Arts with mathematics are eligible for this course. Many institutes may keep it open for all with no bar for specialization but it is advised for candidates having interest in Mathematics, statistics and computer.
Candidates who have done two year Diploma or three year Diploma in Teacher Education are also eligible for this course.

Duration
B.A. is a graduation degree having 3 years of duration for regular classes. These 3 years are divided into 6 equal semesters ending with final exams every 6th month. The duration for online course or distance learning course may vary.

Candidates are advised to pursue post graduate degree in Population Studies to have better jobs in future. M.A. in Population Studies can be done easily. After that, candidates can also go for research based courses like M.Phil and PhD if their interest allows that.

The initial part of course includes poetry, grammar, compositions, etc. As the course moves further, it includes Fundamentals of Sociology, Elements of Population Dynamics, Fertility, Mortality, etc. Some scientific fundamentals are also included in the course to understand the human physiology.
