Course details

The course contains following subjects/papers-

History of Public Health, Concepts in Public Health, Epidemiology and Research
Methodology- This paper includes detailed study of different systems of Medicine, Public health events like sanitary awakening, germ theory of disease, rise of Public health in
various countries and Primary Health Care. They will also learn about Understanding of various levels of prevention, Health situation in India and Difficulties in measurement of health.

Health planning and Public Health Administration- This paper explains the terms like public health, its administration, regionalisation, comprehensive health care, primary health care, delivery of health care and Development of Health Services in India and various committee
reports. It also teaches about Health management.

Nutrition, Environmental Health, Demography, Mental Health and
Education Technology- This paper focuses on Nutritional problems of the country, Common sources of various nutrients and special nutritional requirement according to age, sex, activity, physiological conditions, Common nutritional disorders: protein energy malnutrition, Vitamin A deficiency, anemia etc. It also focuses upon Disposal of solid waste, liquid wastes both in the context of urban and rural conditions in the community to create awareness about problems in the disposal of refuse and sewage.

Recent Advancements in Public Health and Miscellaneous topics- This paper deals with all the new advancements including new vaccines and new diagnostic methods and tests.

Apart from these theoretical papers, candidates need to study some practical subjects also.

Course Duration

It is 3 year degree course equivalent to post graduate degree after MBBS and candidates who have who have recognized Postgraduate Diploma in the same subject will complete the course in 2 years only.
