B.E. or Bachelor of Engineering is an undergraduate degree awarded after 4-5 years of studying engineering. It helps you in getting a job as an engineer in a variety of fields and industries. B.E. courses are all divided into semesters. Each semester is of six months. The first two semesters are devoted to subjects common to all branches of engineering. Third semester onward, students concentrate more on subjects concerned with their stream. Diploma holders too can join laterally their respective branch of engineering. They are given some concession in the subjects they have to study and can mostly join from the 2nd year onward.
