Course Overview
This course was initially designed to meet the management requirement of NGOs. The number of functional NGOs is increasing gradually and the demand of candidates capable to handle their management is also increasing. This course provides required skills and knowledge to work efficiently in such organizations. Candidates learn about setting up goals, objectives and strategies planning for the same. They learn about organizational framework specifically of NGOs, work responsibilities, operational pathways, planning of financial policies, supervision, etc.
Eligibility
A bachelor degree holder from any specialization and recognized institute is eligible for this course. The minimum marks acquired in graduation many vary from institute to institute and candidates need to check the same at the time of submission of their application form.
Duration
The duration for this course is 1 year. This 1 year is divided into 2 separate semesters with each having 6 months duration. Candidates are required to qualify each semester separately.
Admission Procedure
Admission procedure is simple in nature which includes purchase of prospectus and admission form, filling up of application form after reading all the details, and its submission enclosed with all the other required documents like academics mark sheets and application fee.
Further study options
It is a Post Graduation Diploma degree which is sufficient to get a good job afterwards. Interested candidates can go for regular Post graduation degree with same or similar specialization and Research based courses like M.Phil and PhD.
Course highlights
It includes two separate parts- Theory and practical. The theory part of course includes Management of NGO's, Relation between Non-Governmental Organizations and Civil Society, NGO's related Legislation, Agencies and Programmes, Financial and Project Management.
Candidates learn about History of NGOs, their roles in our society, Concept of Civil Society, NGO's Movements in Other Countries, etc. Details about Human Rights, its definition, scope and concept, Gender Equality and related issues, National Human Rights Commission, etc are legal part of this course.
Details about Media (definition, scope and management), role of electronic media and print media in society, etc are included in this course.
