description of the course
MSc in Food chemistry is two year course and focuses on analytical chemistry. The course aims at prevention of unnecessary risks that are harmful to our health through substances present in food. The program expands the knowledge of biochemistry, microbiology and biological analytics studied at graduate level. The student gain in-depth exposure of raw materials composition, consumer foods and fodder. They learn about production of food products,storage methods and its usage. Food chemistry is a scientific discipline, it prepares the students to analyse and improve the quality of foods. The study equips them with knowledge on bio-active compounds, chemical and biochemical reactions, health effects and properties of food.
Eligibility for the course: The aspiring candidates should posses' bachelors degree from a recognised university with science as main stream/chemistry/food science /biology. The candidates should possess strong skills for observations, identifying, recording, detecting flavors/smells etc
