Introduction

Eligibility Criteria

1. To achieve the certification on Certified Inpatient Coder, you need to possess an undergraduate degree. You can complete B.Pharm or MBBS or a Bachelor's degree in Dentistry or BDS.
2. Even if the candidates are a graduate in general sciences like a B.Sc. in Chemistry or Biology or Biochemistry or Biotechnology, then also they are eligible to apply.
3. You should have minimum 50% marks in your graduation to be eligible for this certification. Some institutes even prefer to take an entrance examination to select the final set of candidates who would become the Certified Inpatient Coders.

Higher Studies

1. You can study diploma in nursing, after this course. You will able to become a nurse in a hospital after this diploma. Your added advantage will be that you will a Certified Inpatient Coder before you complete the nursing course.
2. You can study M.Pharma after this course. This will help you opt for entrepreneurship in medicines. You can open a pharmacy in alliance with a hospital or a nursing home. This is because you are previously an approved inpatient coder.

Job Prospects

1. You can become certified coders in hospitals. Your job will be to prepare technical reports on patients who are diagnosed in your hospital. You will also be responsible for the billing reports of that patient.
2. After a few years you can become coding specialists.
3. If you complete M.Pharma, you can also think of opening your own pharmacies. It will help if you do so after 10 years of inpatient coding experience and a master's degree in pharmaceuticals.
