The course is divided into 8 semesters; the first two semesters being common for all engineering branches. The aim of the course is to provide you with a solid foundation in the field of electronics and communication. You will be learning the fundamental principles in electronics and their applications in the field of telecommunication. Topics such as electronic devices, digital circuits, network analysis, digital system design, electromagnetic theory, microprocessors and microcontrollers, VLSI design, digital and analog communication, control engineering and fibre optic communication are taught during the course. Since the electronic industry is a rapidly changing one and new inventions are coming up every now and then, you get to keep yourself updated with the latest emerging trends in the industry.

After course completion, one can very well find jobs in the electronics and telecom manufacturing industries. The IT and the telecom companies are suitable hunting ground for electronics and telecommunication engineers. Companies in the private and the public sector are good job options too. Few such companies are Nokia Siemens, Bharti Airtel, HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, Accenture and Ericsson India.
