Overview
DOEACC O level is a foundation course conducted by the DOEACC Society. The course is related to the field of information technology and is equivalent to the foundation level course in computer applications. There has been a name change for DOEACC Society and is now known as National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT). NIELIT is an autonomous scientific society, coming under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. Successful course completion entitles you to employment to posts coming under the central government in the field of IT.
Eligibility
For students appearing through institutes; pass in 10+2 or ITI (1 year) course after 10th. Students undergoing diploma courses after 10th can join the O level course in their 3rd year. Students applying directly, need to have a relevant 1 year experience in the field of IT.
Duration
The duration of the course is 1 year (2 semesters).
More about the course
Students can enrol through any of the institutes located across the length and breadth of the country. In case the number of applicants are more, an entrance exam is conducted by the concerned institute. The course prepares you for the exams conducted by NEILIT (formerly DOEACC Society). Theory exams are conducted twice a year in the months of January and July in a number of cities across the country. Students can appear for the same by paying the necessary examination fees. Once you appear for the exams you become eligible for the practical exam which is conducted in the institute under the supervision of DOEACC Society, New Delhi. The students have to undergo a project work too after the completion of the 2nd semester. The project is to be successfully completed, even though there are no marks are assigned for it. The results are available online or through the institute. Once you clear all the papers and complete the project successfully, the DOEACC Society awards you with a pass certificate.
Few of the topics are: IT tools and business systems, internet technology, web design, programming, multimedia, ‘C' language and .Net technology.
Job opportunities
On successful completion of the course you can avail employment to posts coming under the central government. The Ministry of Human Resources recognizes the qualification as equivalent to foundation level in computer applications. A few job profiles are computer operator, programmer assistant, IT assistant, EDP assistant and junior programmer. You become eligible for DOEACC ‘A' level.
