This four-year course comprises an exhaustive study of electrical engineering subjects including a project which enables the student to be ready to be employable in the electrical or electronics industry.

The eligibility criteria for taking admission to a B.Tech. course is 10+2 Science and the India JEE Exam.

A candidate is admitted to this course on the merit of 10+2 Science/ JEE/ Institute level written test or through the Institute level Management quota. Diploma holders can also get admission to the second year if they have completed their diploma in electrical engineering.
Course Details
The Bachelor's Electrical Engineering course comprises of eight semesters with the basic subjects like applied physics, applied maths, applied chemistry, applied mechanics, engineering drawing, etc. covered in the first year. In the second and third-year students study the basic subjects of electrical and electronic circuits, material science, electrical networks, electrical circuit design, power electronics, control systems, signal, and systems, etc. Majority of the subjects are taught with a mix of theory and practicals. In the final year students can choose from a variety of specialized subjects apply all the concepts learnt to carry out a project.
