Overview
Bachelor of Visual Arts is also known with its short or abbreviated name- B.V.A. It is Fine Arts course which teaches about different firms of arts like animations, film, graphic designing, video, photography, print media and many other forms. The course has six major parts which are painting, screen arts, photo media, print media, sculptures (ceramics and glass) and Jewellery and Object. Candidates have options to select as per their choice and interest. Eligibility Criteria
Passed 10+2 or an equivalent qualification from any discipline, preferably with more than 50% marks.
Duration
The duration is 3 to 4 years for this course and most of the institutes follow semester systems. Each semester is having 6 months duration and in such cases, 6-8 semesters need to be qualifies for completion of this course.
Admission Procedure
Admissions can be taken directly in some institutes. In that case, candidates need to submit the filled application form, other required documents and application fee before last date of submission. Other ways for admissions are merit basis and through entrance examinations. In both the cases, institute short list the candidates form the application received before last date.

This course in visual arts provides you with a hands-on approach in learning the various skills associated with the numerous art forms. You develop your knowledge base whether it's in painting, printing, screen art or photomedia. This is also a worthwhile course for say, learning the skills and educate oneself about the historical aspects of sculpture as a popular art form, in all its diversity, whether ceramics, glass or simply stone. Through these courses you get to investigate about the history of the various art forms and their role in influencing societies over the ages. It's through critical studies and continuous workshops on these art forms that the students get to gain on the necessary skills and expertise to practice them on the professional front.
This course starts with basics like drawing from nature or object, print making, fundamentals of arts, 2D and 3D designing (theory and practical), etc. Candidates also learn about history of Indian culture and arts, English and regional languages in this course. The later part deals with topics like drawing from human figure, still life, fundamentals of computers, head study in painting, Mural designing, Indian aesthetics, portrait painting, etc.
