Physiotherapy or physical therapy is an important field of healthcare that basically aims to rehabilitate and treat patients having movement disabilities. You will be gaining knowledge of cardiorespiratory, neurological and musculoskeletal system in carrying out physiotherapy. Other than the usual theoretical classes on the subject and physiotherapy workshops, the students get to build upon their competency by practicing in physiotherapy centres.

A physiotherapist can work in the following fields: hospitals, nursing homes, trauma centres, polyclinics, sports centre, community centres, special schools for the physically retarded and rehabilitation centres. Many physiotherapists are into private practice for which they may have to travel to their client's home. Physiotherapy is also getting very popular in most of the sports that are played professionally. Many also enter into academics and become lecturers in institutes and universities. You can also opt to engage in research in the field. In this respect you can first undertake a PhD program in physiotherapy. One can also get into consultation or an administrative job.
