Overview of the Course
The course is two years and the study explores social issues related to science and technology. It provides ground knowledge of social significance of science and brings together professionals from varied sectors to create public awareness in science and technology. The program develops creative and visual abilities to produce ideas in the relevant areas. It enhances the required skills to become competent and effective communicators in science and technology to the needs of the public. The study involves dissemination of communication information through words, images and sounds in the scientific world. Students learn ethics, laws and language for technical communication.
Eligibility requirements for the course
Any graduate degree BA/B.Sc with physics and chemistry at plus two level with aggregate 55% marks are eligible. The student should possess skills in fundamental functions and operations of computer. They should understand computer hardware, components, composing emails, message sending, forwarding, adding attachments etc.
Additional Information of the Course
The study aims at preparing science and technology communicators who can design, maintain and manage systems. The course covers extensive skill oriented topics such as computer education, advertising, public relations, newspaper management, printing, press laws, history and philosophy, information technology. The course is designed to educate students with practical knowledge and computer science related activities by project and field works. The program prepares students to play key roles as communicators to link science and technology world to society at large.

The course provides hi-tech approaches of learning and instructional guidance for implementation of practical application of knowledge. The students gain hands on experience in learning programs. The syllabus covers environmental communication, technical writing, theories and modules, radio production, reporting and writing, media, television production, photography, media creativity, multimedia, graphics, science fiction, scientific films, media research, news letter publication, audio and video lab. The program includes research project, internships, animation, corporate and health communication, documentaries, short films, educational broadcasting, disaster management. The course focuses on study of water and sanitation awareness, content creation and peace journalism.
