Eligibility:
A candidate is eligible to take this graduate course if he or she has completed 10+2 Science (Compulsory subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Maths ) and or has taken an all India JEE / Institute level entrance Exam. Diploma holders are also eligible to get admitted directly into the second year of engineering.

The Mechanical Engineering branch is one of the oldest and the most traditional branches of engineering. This undergraduate course is designed to prepare skilled professionals to design, develop, produce and manufacture, repair and maintain devices in the industry.
Course Details:
This four year B.Tech. course covers basic subjects like applied physics, applied maths, applied chemistry, applied mechanics, engineering drawing in the first year. In the next two years the candidate studies core subjects of the mechanical branch like thermodynamics, heat engines, strength of materials, fluid mechanics, manufacturing technology, production and operations management, IC engines, automobile engineering etc. In the final year the curriculum includes modern subjects, electives and project. The curriculum has a mix of theory, tutorials, practical. Some colleges offer internship in the final semester.

Candidates completing this degree course have career opportunities in manufacturing and production industry. Mechanical engineers are in demand in automotive, aerospace, biotechnology, computer and electronics, energy conversion, automation and manufacturing industry. The engineers are employed as mechanical design engineer, development engineer, advance manufacturing engineer, quality control engineer etc. Graduates can give PSCs, SSC, UPSC, Defense Services exams to be employed by various government sector organizations.
