The emphasis is on increasing the effectiveness of the existing facilities and improve upon their efficiency. Water resources engineers also learn about the government regulations with respect to managing water resources and the environment.
Some of the areas that this course focuses upon are groundwater resources management, hydraulic engineering, geohydrology, river basin management, sanitary engineering, water quality management, financial management, environmental impacts of water resources projects and government policies related to such projects.
