Introduction to this course
The course gives you a wholesome and a big picture of the social, political, and economic scenario in the Islamic regions. If you are a research scholar in India, who wishes to know about the impact of the Islamic religion in India and outside India, then this is just the course for you. This curse is a perfect mixture of History and Islam. In the first year of this course you will have to focus on this History and the basic principles of Islam. You will come to know about the overall impact of Islam in India and abroad countries. You would get a comparative idea of the propagation and expansion of other religions during the medieval times. In the next and final year of this course, you will be assigned to a research guide, based on your merit. Under this guide you will prepare your dissertations.

- First of all, you must have completed post graduation prior to this course. Although the stream of post graduation doesn't matter here, this course is mostly pursued by postgraduates in the arts stream. Again, the subject in which you complete your Master's in Arts is not looked into during the admission in this course. But this course would be valuable for you to secure a job, if you have done the post graduation prior to this course in a related genre.
- There is no restriction regarding the total score to be obtained in the prior post graduation. So the more you obtain, the higher are your chances to become a student for this course.
- The admission to this course is on merit basis and subject to the score you obtain in the entrance examination for this course. Almost all the universities providing this course, hold entrance examinations to select the best lot of students. If you score among the top ranking students in this entrance examination, then you will get a chance to study this course.
Once you complete the M.Phil course, you can apply for the position of an adjunct faculty in any degree or diploma college in Islamic Studies. If you clear the government approved lectureship examination, like, UGC NET or SLET, then you can apply as a full time lecturer in the colleges providing courses on Islamic studies in India or abroad.
