Introduction
'Masters of Philosophy' is mostly used as M.Phil. It is a short term research based course. The specialization in Marathi teaches about Marathi language and literature. This includes Marathi origin, history, evolution and may more. Details about Maharashtra (being a geographical area where Marathi is in use) are also included in the course.
This course is available in regular as well as through correspondence and candidates already in job can also enroll for this course for their professional requirement.
Eligibility
Candidates holding Master's degree in Marathi are eligible for this course. The minimum qualifying marks varies from one institute to another and need to be checked prior to application submission.
In special case, if a candidate is having prior knowledge of Marathi, he or she can also join this course after clearing entrance examination.
Duration
It is 1 year for course and 2 years for short term project/ dissertation. Each year is divided into 2 semesters.

At the end, candidates need to submit the project report or thesis of their short term project.
