Eligibility and course duration
You must have a post-graduation degree in MA or MSc Psychology from a recognized university with at least 55% marks in aggregate. Admissions are done on the basis of entrance test and personal interviews.

Rehabilitation psychology has certain things common with clinical psychology, but the main difference being, rehabilitation psychologist focuses on persons with disabilities, whereas clinical psychology focus on mental health. As a rehabilitation psychologist you learn how to remediate the physical barriers that prevent the disabled person from participating effectively with the community.
Along with extensive theoretical inputs on the subject of rehabilitation, the course curriculum prepares you for internship in the field by participating in seminars, clinical practices, case studies and so on. Job opportunities
After completion of your course you can obtain the licence from Rehabilitation Council of India to practice as a qualified rehabilitation psychologist. You can get work in many of the rehabilitation centres in the country. You can work as a clinician, counsellor or a community psychologist. One also gets the opportunity of undertaking research in disability and rehabilitation psychology. You can further your education by doing a PhD course and then pursue a research based career. There is also the possibility of undertaking teaching assignments in this field. Government departments like Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment also provide for employment in this sector.
