Overview
Archival Science and Manuscriptology is a very interesting field of study. Archival science concerns with building and curating archives and collecting papers, documents, files, photos and other recordings of historical significance. An archivist not only curates archives and acquires recorded materials but also seeks to evaluate and appraise them to ensure their reliability and integrity. Manuscriptology, on the other hand, focuses on historical and literary aspects of archaeological finds. These include studying evidences of historical value through rare paper manuscripts and old palm leaf manuscripts. It also includes studying epigraphs and evidences of underwater archaeology. As such, this course is very suitable for those who have a passion for historical records and artefacts and desires to make a career out of it.
