The course helps you learn how to organize and run a museum. It's not just managing objects, curios and artefacts that a museologist does in a museum. It's much more than that. A visitor not just sees the objects. A museologist manages the programs in such a way that a visitor learns a lot by seeing as well as doing. The visitor is put to awe by seeing everyday objects and articles being put to use in an entirely different way. Other than the practical day to day skills needed to run a museum, you will be learning of the ethics concerning collecting artefacts for a museum. You will be learning of the role of museums in enlightening the populace about the art and culture of past societies.
Some of the topics that are covered are: Cultural heritage of India, principles of museology, museum administration and management, exhibition planning & designing, collections management, preservation, conservation & restoration techniques and so on.
