Masters of Science is a post graduation degree in the field of Science and the specialization of Applied Geology deals with study about Earth, its shape, various changes, forms, etc. Candidates study about Structural Geology, Physical Geology, Engineering Geology, Geo-morphology and many more such topics. Study about contaminated land ground investigation through high technical instruments is also done in this course.
The course has different dimensions like Paleontology, Sedimentary Petrology, Metamorphic Petrology, Igneous Petrology, Thermodynamics, Crystal Optics, Ore Petrology, etc.
Candidates holding Graduation degree from any of the reputed or affiliated institutes are eligible for this course. The specialization of Geology, Earth Science or any related subjects are preferred. The minimum qualifying marks varies from one institute to another and need to be checked before submission of application.
It is having 2 years duration on regular basis and these 2 years are divided into 4 equal semesters; each having 6 months duration.
Admissions are direct or on merit basis for most of the institutes and they short list the candidates on first come first serve basis or scores basis respectively.
