Introduction
B.E. is bachelor of Engineering and it is a graduation level technical degree course. The specialization of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Marine) is designed to create professionals for working on board in ships as electrical and electronic engineers. The course has both theoretical and practical sessions which enable proper learning by candidates.
Candidates study about electrical circuit building, high voltage systems and fault finding on their own.
Eligibility
Candidates who have passed their 12th standard or equivalent in Science stream with minimum 50% marks from any of the reputed, recognized or affiliated board are eligible for this course. For most of the institutes, the age should not be more than 25 years for this course.
Admission Procedure
Admission procedure includes qualifying entrance examination for most of the reputed institutes. Interested candidates need to submit their filled application before due date and then to qualify the entrance test with good scores. Some institutes conduct personal interviews also for the short listed candidates after entrance examination.
Duration
The duration for this course is 4 Years which is equivalent to 8 semesters. Each semester requires 6 month getting completed ad ends with final examinations. Candidates need to clear each semester separately to complete the course.
Further Study options
After completion of this course, interested candidates can pursue their Masters degree in same or similar specialization. For example, they can purse M.E. or M.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Marine). After that, PhD can also be pursed to have excellent job options.
Course highlights
The course starts with basics topics like Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Chemistry and Engineering Physics. Some English is also taught in this course. Fundamentals of Computer, Engineering Graphics and some lab sessions of Physics and chemistry make the initial part of the course. The later part of course Data Structure & Algorithm, Communication Engineering, Electronic Devices & Circuits, Electric Circuit Analysis, etc. Part of Fluid Mechanics Laboratory, Integrated Circuits Laboratory and Object Oriented Programming Lab are also included in this course for understanding of candidates. Hydraulics & Pneumatics, Transmission & Distribution, Cyber Security, Computer Networks, Electrical Machines , Numerical Methods and Linear Programming, etc are important part of this course.

These candidates are eligible for working in Anglo-Eastern Shipping, Dohle Danautic Shipping, A.P MOLLER, American President Lines, etc. They can also work as marine designer, Application Engineer, Project Control and Planning Engineer in their field.
