Eligibility Criteria

: The candidates should have passed PUC/higher secondary (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 50% marks from a recognized university. The age of the students should not b more that 25 years. Admission is through entrance test and personal interview. The students should have interest in working in fishing areas and in marine setting.

The course is four year and undergraduate program. The course focuses on the study of engineering physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer basics and physical education. The curriculum covers theory lectures, practical sessions, seminars, workshops and continuous assessments. The study subjects engineering mechanics, graphics, hydrodynamics, fluid mechanics, material strengths lab, oceanography, dredging basics, quantity surveying, marine geophysical methods, marine geo-technical engineering and coastal surveying. The program emphasis on the study of port planning and construction, remote sensing techniques. The course provides essential skills in theoretical and practical knowledge in areas of marine scientific sectors. The practical classes involves in handling of physical and chemical measuring instruments, sampling devices, and reduction systems abroad ocean going and smaller vessels, Students get hands on experience on trouble shooting issues, repairing works of for four and two strokes out boards, fuel and tube systems and electrical diesel engines. The program prepares them to acquire skills in latest sophisticated equipment in marine sectors.
