Introduction
Masters of Science is a post graduate course with a common name of 'M.Sc.'. Fleet Operations Management designed to generate professionals for marine and allied industries. This course is a combination of advanced level core marine engineering subjects and management subjects and includes details about essential for techno-commercial operations required for industries. It has suitability for candidates from the field of Motor Certificate of Competency, certificates of competency (deck or engine) or other equivalent courses.
Eligibility

Duration
It is 2 years or 4 semesters for this course in regular mode. In case of part time course, the duration may vary from one institute to another and candidates are advised to check the same before submitting their application form.
Further Study options
It is a post graduation course after which candidates will be eligible for jobs. Still if a candidate wants to study further, PhD is an option. Candidates with research aptitude can enroll for PhD in any of the selected topic. Other options can be dual masters in related field like MBA.

The course starts with basic topics like Business Economics, Financial, Cost and Management Accounting, Human Resources Management and Organizational Behavior. Candidates also learn about concepts of marketing management, Ship Chartering and Ship Broking, etc. The later part of course includes study about Maritime Law, International Maritime Conventions, Quality/ Security/ Environment safety management, etc.
A part of Ship Management, Marine Insurance, different custom practices, etc are also included in the course.
The last semester of the course includes short term project which is to be completed in any related industry.
