Introduction
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) specialization in Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) course deals with study about 2 main areas, the Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist and the Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist. The course makes the candidates capable for working in primary, acute and even long term care taking situations.
The course first teaches about general MSN coursework, and once the candidates get familiarize with that, it moves towards the CNS specialty part of he course.
Basically, this course is a direct route which enables the skilled nurses to work at care of higher level that too in a wide range to health related setting like geriatric and adult care sections.
Eligibility
Candidates from biology back ground are eligible for this course. They must have done their graduation degree from any of the recognized institutes with minimum 55% marks.
Prior knowledge of Statistics and research methodology are required for these candidates.
Admission Procedure
Admission can be direct or on merit basis. Only few recognized institutes conduct entrance examination for admission and in that case, candidates need to submit their application form and appear in the entrance examination on declared dates. Candidates performing well in the same will get confirmation for admission.
Duration
The duration for this course is 2 years if it pursued in regular mode. For part time candidates, it takes 3 years for completion.
