Course Description of Bachelor of Heritage Management - BHM
The graduate course prepares students to equip with skills in heritage management and provides a pathway for a career. The program develops communication skills and experiences in cultural studies. Students learn the heritage management in cultural and natural settings an economy. The field in Heritage sector is fast developing and there is huge demand for trained professionals in relevant areas. The degree program is three year course duration and prepares students to acquire leadership abilities and managerial skills. It aims at educating students to become competent cultural professionals to enhance awareness of heritage and cultures of different locations. The course fosters developing demonstration skills in public and created curiosity in them to discover heritage sites and explore to learn them. Students equip with skills to kindle interest in people to conserve and preserve the heritage sites. They develop and manage operational skills to handle and affairs of cultural and heritage settings. Emphasis is laid on students to support and contribute towards creating awareness among people for preservation and restoration of culturally rich heritage sites. Training provides students experiences to translate knowledge in relevant areas and innovate strategies to conserve the important heritage structures. Students get trained to plan, organize, identify the various aspects of heritage and classify them as educationally/ aesthetic valued, cultural, heritage artifacts, rare buildings and study the histories associated with them.They learn to develop creative initiatives for varied dissemination of information through exhibitions, displays, print and media.
