Introduction
People address the course 'Master of Dental Surgery' as M.D.S in regular use. The specialization of Oral Medicine & Radiology is related to the diseases of the oral part of our body and it's surrounding area. It also deals with the oral and dental treatment of medically compromised patients, oral manifestation of systemic diseases, etc.
Candidates learn to have patient's history, investigations, clinical examination, radiographic examination, medical management of lesions and diagnosis.
Candidates get trained for using various diagnosis procedures, instruments and techniques related to medical management.
Eligibility
Candidates completed their 5 years of Bachelors of Dental surgery with at least 55% of marks from a university recognized/ affiliated/ Accredited by Dental Council of India are eligible for this course. They should also have completed their 1 year compulsory internship before enrolling for this course.
Candidates are advised to check the age criteria carefully before submitting their application form.

Admission procedure includes submission of duly filled application form. It should be enclosed with all other required documents like previous qualification certificates, age proof, residence proof, a short written paper like research paper review, etc.

Duration
The duration for this course is 3 regular years. This includes theoretical studies, practical experiments and even hands on training of candidates.
Further Study options
This course gives an idea about the research process hence candidates interested in pursuing higher studies after this course can go for PhD. Through PhD, they will be able to conduct their own research on the topic selected by them (after approval of their guide).
