Introduction
M.Sc. is a post graduate degree/ Master's degree with full name as 'Master of Science'. The specialization of Anaesthesiology & Intensive Care Technology is a field of medical science that deals with anaesthesia and other related technologies in combination to Intensive Care.
Anaesthesiology teaches about blocking the sensation of an individual or any organ on temporary basis. This technology is basically used to save the patient from facing the unbearable pain during surgeries. Anaesthetics are used to this purpose and these are drugs in nature which are used to halt the physical feelings of whole body or a part of body that too without his loss of consciousness.
Eligibility
Being a master's or post graduate degree, candidates holding Graduation degree in Science from a recognized institute or university are eligible for this course. The minimum qualifying marks ranges from 55-60% as an aggregate and varies from one institute to another. Interested candidates need to check the same before submitting their application form.
Admission Procedure
For admission, candidates need to submit their filled application form before last date of submission. The application form must be enclosed with all other required documents like age proof, qualification certificate, etc.
Some institutes offer the admission on merit basis where as some institutes conduct the entrance examination to short list the candidates for admission.
Duration
The duration for this course is 2 years. These 2 years are divided into 4 different semesters, each having 6 months duration. The complete syllabus is divided accordingly.
Further Study options
The option for higher studies is PhD. course, which is a research based study of the selected topic by candidate. There is no age restriction for this course.

The whole syllabus includes study about Anatomy and Physiology, Basics of Anaesthesiology, Anaesthetic Equipment, Pharmacology, Regional Anaesthesia, Microbiology, etc. Candidates also learn about different Anaesthesia, different Anaesthetic Procedures and its Surgical Specialties. Some part of Patient Care and Monitoring is also included in the course.
