M.Sc. is a Masters Degree or Post graduate degree - Master of Science with many different specializations. The specialization of Wildlife Biology is designed and developed to train the professionals for working in the direction of Wildlife conservation. These candidates learn about wildlife science and become capable to support the cause of wild life conservation.
All the details about advanced scientific basis for wild life management, different management practices for different wildlife habitats and a successful implementation are included in the course.
The course includes different modes of education like theory papers, field practical, assignments, tour journal, lab practical sessions, etc.
The course is not available in distance learning mode and candidates need to attend it on regular basis.
Further Study options
After completion of this course with good grades, candidates are eligible for jobs but still if a candidates want to continue his/ her studies, a research based PhD or Doctoral degree is available in may reputed institutes in India.
Candidates holding Bachelor's degree in Science or Biological Science from a affiliated institute or recognized university with minimum 55% marks as an aggregate are eligible for this course. Other eligible subjects are Forestry, Environmental Sciences, Veterinary and Agriculture.
Many reputed institutes have age restriction of 25 years for this course. The reserved candidates may have relaxations after producing related documents.
For admissions, interested candidates need to submit the filled application form enclosed with required documents. Candidates appearing in final year of their graduation may also submit the form but they need to qualify the minimum required marks criteria at the end of their graduation.
Some institutes short list the candidates on merit basis where as some institutes conduct their entrance test to finalize the admissions.

As the course is combination of Wildlife and Biology it includes all the related topics like Fundamentals in Ecology, Forestry and Natural Resource Conservation, Biogeography, Mammalogy, Plant Systematics and Vegetation Science, Ichthyology, Ornithology, Herpetology, Entomology and Invertebrates. Details about Population Ecology and Quantitative Methods are also included in the initial part of the course.
The course includes field tours to understand the wildlife closely. Candidates need to complete a project by the end of the course.
