Eligibility Criteria
- The basic eligibility criteria for pursuing Diploma Electrical Engineering (DEE) course is a pass in 10th standard or Senior Secondary Examination with Mathematics and Science as a subject from a recognized and reputed school.
- A class 12th pass candidate in Science stream (Mathematics group) is also eligible to pursue this course.
- Candidates working in private or government sector (minimum 2 years of work experience) and having Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in senior secondary level are also eligible to pursue this course.
- The minimum age requirement to pursue DEE course is 15 years.
Course Duration
The minimum duration of Diploma Electrical Engineering (DEE) course is 3 years. However, the distance learning candidates can further extend the duration as per their convenience.
Admission Process
Many engineering, technical and polytechnic colleges and institutes are offering Diploma Electrical Engineering course. Most institutes usually follow the direct admission process. Interested students are required to approach the desired institute and fill up the admission form. Seats will be allotted only to the deserving students on the basis of marks scored by them in the qualifying examination (usually in Mathematics and Science subjects).
Course Syllabus

Further Studies
After completing Diploma Electrical Engineering (DEE) program, one may go for Bachelor's degree (B.E / B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering. Most of the Degree Engineering colleges reserve certain percentage of seats for Diploma certificate holders. This entry is known as lateral entry. Diploma holders with good grade may make use of lateral entry and join B.E / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering in 2nd year directly. One may also go for Master's degree or PG Diploma program.
