More about the course
Screen printing is about printing a surface by using a mesh and transferring the ink on the surface that is to be printed. It is a stencil kind of print technology, where the blank areas of the mesh get filled with the ink and is then transferred to the substrate when a blade or a squeegee is moved across. On the reverse stroke of the blade the ink that wets the substrate leaves an imprint on the printing surface. So here in this course you will be learning the entire technique involving the screen printing procedure. You will learn about power driven and hand operated screen printing machines. You will be learning about the various materials associated with screen printing. You learn terms like silk-screen printing, serigraph printing and serigraphy which are the same thing as screen printing. The meshes these days are mostly made of polyester. There are meshes made of nylon and even stainless steel too that are meant for special use. It was the use of silk meshes that traditionally this art was earlier known as silk-screen printing.
Jobs and opportunities
By gaining skill in the field of screen printing you can qualify to work as a screen printer or a stencil preparer in the screen printing industry. You can have your own business too.
