The job of a crane operator is a highly specialized one. For someone to be employed as a crane operator, it requires training as well as certification. Since it involves the safety of men and material, someone without a certification in this field is never permitted to operate a crane. In recent times, lot of construction and development works are being carried out in the cities and towns of our country. As such a good number of cranes of all kinds including tower cranes, mobile cranes, hydras, JCBs, overhead cranes and others are being used at various construction and industrial sites. Cranes are a permanent fixture in industrial plants and factories involving heavy equipment. As such, there is always the need for trained crane operators in good numbers.

Eligibility and course duration

No formal qualification may be essential for enrolling for this course. It however requires you to be medically fit and at least 18 years in age. It helps, if you are at least 10th pass. You can then understand the technicalities better. Duration of training for a specific crane is 3 months.

Operating a crane requires specialized skill and as such, the main aim of this certification course is to inculcate you with the necessary skills and knowledge of operating a crane safely. Since cranes come in a variety of types and are used by a variety of industries like, construction, petrochemicals, erection work, steel, heavy equipment manufacturers and industry in general, there are different courses suitable to each crane.
