Overview


As the name of the trade suggests, pipe fitters are into the job of fabricating and installing pipes and tubing for a variety of industries. These pipes and tubing carry fluids such as water, steam, lubricating oil, fuel and chemicals. The role of a pipe fitter is also to repair and maintain these pipes and to troubleshoot problems associated with them. Some of these piping systems are used for cooling, lubricating, heating and conveying the fluid from one point of the system to the other. The services of a pipe fitter are utilized in a host of projects like oil fields, oil refineries, power stations, factories, buildings, residential complexes and many such installations.
