The main idea of the program is to produce high caliber scholars who can take up intensive research in the field of supply chain management or get into a high profile teaching career in colleges and universities. Logistics, even though it had a military origin is these days very much associated with the world of business. It's all about sourcing and procuring raw materials, managing the inventory and finally produce the raw materials into finished goods and deliver it to the end consumers. Supply chain management is an integral part of logistics management and is often used in lieu of the term logistics. In fact, it is more about the network that helps in the flow of materials from its initial raw stage to its final product and final delivery to the consumers.
