Introduction
Bachelor of Design is mostly addressed as B. Des. And it has some specializations. Accessory Designing is one of them with various job options afterwards. It is related to fashion and interior designing and considered as a supportive activity in trends and fashion. It is also co related with apparel and apparel based other products like jewellery, footwear, bags and many other things. Candidates learn about design methodology, production process, materials required, consumer behavior, market dynamics, etc. Candidates also learn about leather accessories, watches, giftware and associated business practices or project managements.
This course is to be pursued regularly and is not available in correspondence mode.
Eligibility
This course requires 12th passed candidates who have done the same from a recognized institute and board. The minimum qualifying marks and age restriction need to be checked from the selected institute as it will be varied from one to another institute.
Admission Procedure
Admissions can be availed directly, on merit basis or through entrance examinations depending upon the institute you select. Submission of filled application form, other required documents and application fee before last date is the key step for admission.

The duration for this course is 3 years or 6 semesters. This may vary for different institutes and different modes.
Further Study options
After completion of this course, interested candidates can go for Post graduation in Accessory designing (M. Des), Master of Administration (MBA) in Fashion Management, M.A. in Fashion designing, etc. Then they can go for PhD on the topic of their interest. This will provide a doctorate degree after completion.

The course starts with common foundation program in design. Then candidates learn about skills required for designing, about different processes, construction principles, study about sizes and proportions, anthropometrics, etc. An orientation program focused on familiarity, appreciation ad insight of different accessory types is also an important art of this course.
A cultural, trends, fashion, consumer behavior aspects of the course are also included in the course.
Candidates gain an ability to evolve strategy of design, technical complexities, fashion influences, etc.
