Introduction
B.A. or Bachelor of Arts is a graduation level or under graduate course. It has different subject's specializations and Classical Vocal Music (Hon.) is one among them. The course teaches about music, its history and origin of classical music. It also teaches about deviations and varieties of classical music.
A part about classical instruments and their details are also included in the course curriculum.

Eligibility
12th passed candidates from a reputed institute and recognized board are eligible for his course. Candidates with prior knowledge about the subjects are preferred in most of the institutes. Admission criteria related to minimum qualifying marks in 12th and age of candidates need to be checked before submission of application form to avoid end moment reject of application.
Admission Procedure
Admission can be availed directly by submitting the duly filled application form before last date in most of the institutes. Some reputed institute may offer seats on merit basis and some may conduct their entrance examinations to short list the deserving candidates depending upon their performance in the same.
Duration
The duration for this course is 3 regular years which are divided into 6 semesters, each having 6 months duration.
Further Study options
After successfully completing the graduation course, candidates are advised to go for post graduation in same stream and they should pursue M.A in Music.
After post graduation M.Phil in Music and them PhD in Music can also be done if a candidates has interest in research based studies. Please note that PhD does not have any age restriction.
B.Ed is an option for those who want to have career in teaching line.

The course starts with specific Music related studies and teaches about vibration, intensity, pitch, equal tempered scales, just intonation, forced and free vibration, etc in theory. The theoretical part also includes details about Nada, shruti, alankar, laya, different raags, notation of compositions in prescribed ragas, etc.
The course also includes details about famous singers, musicians and their contributions.
