Introduction
B.A. or Bachelor of Arts is a graduation level or undergraduate course. It has many specializations or subjects and Sculptures is one among them from the field of Fine Arts. Sculpture is nothing but a fluid field of materials with endless possibilities in which it can exist that too in multiple dimensions. Candidates learn about various ranges of techniques and media required for inter-play assembling of forms of materials. They learn to invent, explore, process their innovative ideas for object making, its installation, site work, performance, time based art, etc.
The course also teaches about nature of materiality through different processes like welding, mold making, fabrication and foundry work.
Eligibility
Candidates who have completed their 12th examinations from a reputed institute and recognized board are eligible for this course. Candidates from the field of Arts are preferred by some institutes. The minimum qualifying marks and age restriction should be checked from the office of selected institute before submission of application form as these varies from one institute to another.
Admission Procedure
Admissions can be availed in 3 ways but the common thing is submission of duly filled admission form enclosed with other required documents and application fee before last date. Some institutes take direct admissions and some shortlist candidates in merit basis. Only few reputed institutes conduct their entrance test to validate the prior knowledge of candidates.
Duration
Just like other graduation level courses, it also has 3 years duration.
Further Study options
After completion of this course successfully, candidates interested fir higher studies should pursue post graduation or Master degree in Sculpture or fine arts. After that, PhD can also be pursued to have a research experience.
Course Highlights
Apart from Arts related subjects, the course also teaches about Hindi and communicative English during initial period of course. It teaches about drawing, pictorial designing in 2D and 3D, fundamentals of Fine arts, painting, clay modeling, print making, etc during initial phase of course. Then candidates learn about calligraphy, geometry, history of ancient Art, portrait, Aesthetics in Indian perspective, advertising profession and its practice and many more.
Job aspects
These candidates can become a 3D texturing artist, interior decorator, Clay modeler, etc as per their interest. They can work in Artifacts Shops, Museums, Art Galleries, Architect companies and various firms providing services for interior decorations.
