Introduction
M.E. is an abbreviated form and common name for Master of Engineering which is a Post Graduate course in the field of Technology and Engineering. M.E. in Power Electronics and Drives is a course which deals with designing of tools for thermal, electrical, electrochemical, electromagnetic, circuit design systems and others. Candidates get knowledge about both state-of-art technologies and conventional technologies like EMC and energy technology, Digital signal processor, power semiconductor devices, etc.

The complete syllabus of the course is divided into 4 parts and starts with basics like Applied Mathematics for electrical engineers, analysis of power converters, analysis of electrical machines, inverters, etc. Then candidates learn about modeling of electromagnetic field computation and modeling, solid state AC and DC drives, special electrical machines, DSP based system designs and other related topics. The course also includes some lab-based practical for the better understanding of subjects through hands-on practices.
