Introduction
B.Sc. is a common or abbreviated name of Bachelor of Science hence it is available in all the subjects of science. B.Sc. in Geology itself has many sub-specializations like Geochemistry, Economic Geology, Geophysics, Hydrogeology, Mineralogy, Geomorphology, Petrology, Oceanography, petroleum geology, etc.
Geology is a branch of science which teaches about Solid Earth, various processes affecting its shape and other characteristics, about plate tectonics, history of life and our evolution, our climate and other related facts.
The course also has an advantage in the field of mineral and hydrocarbon exploration, water resources evaluation, understanding and prediction of natural hazards and natural problems.
Geotechnical Engineering has become a major discipline due to its importance in various fields.
Eligibility
Just like other Graduation courses, it also requires 12th passed candidates from a reputed institute and recognized board. Candidates must have studied science subjects during 12th to become eligible for this course. The minimum required marks should be 55% as aggregate for most of the institutes and the age criteria may vary, so can be checked from the selected institute before application submission.
