Introduction
Master of Arts is also known as M.A. most of the times. It is a Post Graduate degree course in Arts stream. It has various specializations in Arts field and Persian is one among them. M.A. in Persian is a Language course which teaches all about Persian language including its origin, evolution, advancements, famous writers, authors, novels and many more. Candidates also study about poetry, drama, prose, novels, grammar, etc.
Eligibility
Candidates holding Bachelor of Arts degree in Persian from a reputed institute with at least 55% marks as aggregate are eligible for this course. Some institutes accept candidates from any stream but in that case, they take an entrance test to validate the prior knowledge of candidates about the Persian language.
The age criteria vary from one institute to another and need to be checked before submitting the application form.
Admission Procedure
Admissions are direct most of the time. Only some institutes take admissions on the merit basis or conduct entrance test to shortlist the deserving candidates and to validate their knowledge about the subject.
Duration
The duration of this course is 2 years which is equivalent to 4 semesters; each having 6 months duration. This duration varies from one institute to another depending upon the mode of the course.
Further Study options
After completion of this course, candidates having research aptitude can go for Ph.D. where they can get an opportunity to conduct their own research on the topic of their interest after getting approval from the supervisor.
Candidates interested in teaching can go for B.Ed. and then M.Ed.

Then candidates learn about the biography of famous authors including Life, works and period of Hafiz, Maulana Rum, development of Persian Ghazal, etc.
Then the course teaches about Modern Persian prose and poetry which includes Sheerin Kala, Baha-i-Ishq, Az in Dar Ya Az Aan Dar, Intekhab-I-Nasr-I-Moasir, etc.
Some historical part of Persian language is also an important part of the course and also includes the modern drama, novels, and many other things.
