Geriatric medicine is that field of medical science that deals with medical issues related to the aged and the elderly. Anyone over 60 years comes under this medical category. Since the aged are more or less affected with more than one medical condition, all at the same time, treatment for the aged becomes a complex procedure. A geriatric specialist has to thus take into consideration a patient's every medical condition before taking course to a certain treatment procedure. Considering that, medical science has improved vastly and we now live longer than ever before, the clinical requirement and the dosages of medicines at this age is vastly different. Anyone with an MBBS degree can apply for this course. Selections are based on an entrance test. The duration of the course is 1 year.
